| SEEING THE WORLD CLEARLY... is what The Great Warming is all about. |

| Seeing - and comprehending - the beauty of creation. |

About a year ago, I was snorkling in Guam. Coming out of the water, I thought I'd got something in my left eye.Probably sun tan lotion. But it wasn't. Instead I'd experienced a "vitreous detachment" - an event in which the clear vitreous fluid in the eyeball detaches from the retina, pulling away clumps of cells that remain suspended in the eye. About a month later, same thing in my right eye.
What was it like? Rotten - like seeing the world through a constantly moving mass of jellyfish, cloudlike masses and clumps of threads. Imagine the eye floaters most of you already have, multiplied by 1,000%.
Cut to the chase. Being a producer means solving problems. After four eye doctors told me to "live with it" (don't you just love that?) I discovered Dr. John Karickhoff, Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology of Georgetown University in Washington DC and a member of the Advisory Board of Duke University Eye Center. Definitely not a quack.
Dr. Karickhoff is the developer of a unique laser treatment for eye floaters, which he's performed over 1,200 times on patients who come to him from all over the world. I've had the treatment, and it works - I'm 85% back to normal, which is OK with me.
Why am I writing this? Because seeing is what I do, but also because of the resistance I experienced from "traditional" eye doctors when I told them about this treatment. When so many people experience this condition, and a treatment exists for it, why is the knee-jerk reaction of the medical profession "no way - can't possibly work".
I promised Dr. Karickhoff I'd let folks know about him and his just-published book for doctors describing the procedure. Here's the link, and thanks Doc, for letting me see the world again.
